Check it out!
The Pixie-Bob is an amazing cat breed categorized by their wild appearance and, "bobbed," or shortened, tail. The original cats, born with tails like these, were found in barns across north america. Eventually, a breeder named Carol Ann Brewer, adopted one of these, specifically a male, polydactyl, bob tailed kitten. She bred this cat with another, and found that his kittens(one of which she named Pixie, hence the breed name.) also had this abnormality.
She later popularized the breed, and it was recognized officially only about ten years later. The majority of Pixie-Bob cats today are polydactyl due to their ties to the original polydactyl tom-cat.
